About the farm

Raised on grass.
Sold by the farm.

Quigley Farms is a small family operation in southern Ontario. We raise lamb in the fall and chicken in batches through summer, pasture-based from start to finish.

The practice

Pasture first, always.

Our lambs graze outside as soon as the grass is in. Winter hay and an organic-grain finish from a neighbour's farm — grain is a supplement, not a substitute. Chickens live on pasture in moveable shelters: grass under their feet, bugs in their diet, clean water every day.

Animals are processed at a small provincial abattoir. Carcass weights average 35–45 lb for lamb, 4–5 lb whole dressed for chicken. Your deposit covers processing; the balance is settled in person when you pick up your frozen packs at the farm.

Why this way

Small batches. Straight answers.

We keep the flock and the chicken batches small on purpose. It means the animals get genuine pasture time, the processing is unhurried, and we can be honest with you about where your food comes from — we know every animal we raise.

If something isn't right when you pick up, tell us. If you want different cuts next year, tell us. We'd rather talk than email.
